Here is one of my favorite poems, taught to me by a very spiritual man and a wonderful visual artist,
when I attended a Church seminary training program so many years ago:-

''Life's whirlpool sucks you in
And spits you out again
But should you suck the whirlpool in
Your life is not in vain.

There was a time I used to dream
Of all things out of reach
But now I know life is but a dream
So instead of dreaming, I reach.''

Title: 'OPTIMIST'

It amazes me

Just how well

My day goes

As clear as a bell.

As though

This universe knows

Who I am and what

I need to tell.

Like a special delivery

Of the day's

Mouth watering order

From my favourite restaurant

South of the border,

I receive what I want.

It’s as if by

Some mystical genie,

All my wishes

Are granted freely.

Objects flow to me

In a timely way.

As I dance with glee

Each and every day

Nothing in life

Ever seems boring.

When I awaken,

Every new morning

Anticipating what the

Fresh dawn is revealing,

I'm infused with energy

Joy and well-being.

So glad to be alive.

Glad to have survived

Now I cannot change fate.

But, I can hardly wait

To awaken this body

And seize the day.

Without further delay.

I love the joy

And unfolding of life.

I'm not even coy.....

I'd make a perfect wife

I love the new surprises

flowing my way,

In all shapes and sizes.

The freedom to change them

When the need arises.

And that inspiration

Which bravely comes

By me, on distant drums.

I love knowing

Where I'm going;

Hearing familiar voices

Singing divine choruses

That remind me of

My infinite choices

To manifest the future.

Title: 'Character'

What the world
Thinks a woman is?
That's her 'Reputation'.

Sadly, its often based
On false accusation,
Prejudice and supposition.

Upon further investigation
What's been found,
She really is?
That's her 'Character'.

For its her heart's
Attunement and intention,
That truly matter.
(Hence, the question.)

At any rate
Though it is fate,
Which presents
Her circumstances,

Love still requires
That a woman
Take her chances,
To determine her character.

In that way
The seeds of
Her wisdom will scatter.

If here and now
 She were to somehow,
Receive an unexpected
And sudden impact,
How would she react?

How would she respond?
If the truth be known,
Character is a diamond
That scratches a little,
Every other stone.

Yet never
Has there been
A magic wand,
Rock or crystal
More powerful
Than a strong
 Woman's backbone.

 We each need
A mind and will
Of our own.
(To fullfill)

Character
Is a victory,
Not a mere gift.
 Underneath this mystery
Lies the lesson
To uplift.

Character,
Like a kettle
Once mended,
Always requires repairs.

And sin,
Like a habit
Once transcended,
Always requires prayers.

As the story goes,
A person shows
What she is;
By what she does
With what she has,
Not whom she knows.

Self-determinism
Is fine
When tempered
with self-control.

Misfortune will decline,
When recognition
Of the soul
Becomes our ultimate goal.

    *POETRY For The Soul*

I am an accomplished Poet, with 100s of poems published. I believe the gift of poetry is inspiring and can be used to remind us of who we really are. This is evident in the Bible where poetry is expressed in the book of Psalms and of Proverbs.
